analysis server

How do I connect to the analysis server? I have installed 2005 and
manually started the analysis services (2005). However, when I tried
to use data source view wizard (after creating a data source
AdventureWorksDW) I got an error message 'sql server does not exist or
access denied'. I am new to analysis services and trying to jump start
the 2005 tutorials. By the way, where is this database? I tried to
locate it on the SQL server and its not there. How do browse objects
on Analysis Server? I can not even connect to the Analysis Server
using SSMS even though I have started the analysis service. I got an
error message, 'encure that sql browser is running'. It is running!
Thanks.On Sep 17, 12:07 pm, SB <othell...@.yahoo.com> wrote:

Now I am getting another error and asking for user id and password for
AdventureWorksDW! The sa password for sql server does not work. I am
getting login failed message after I modified the data source. This is
all done on my local SQL server PC.|||On Sep 17, 12:07 pm, SB <othell...@.yahoo.com> wrote:

AdventureWorksDW! The sa password for sql server does not work. I am

'localhost' (data source designer) to the instance of sql 2005 on my
machine.|||Is SQL Server Browser service perhaps running as a Network Service? Are there
any SSAS related messages in the SQL Server Error Log?

Thanks. I have everything (sql server, analysis server) installed on
my local pc.|||You haven't answered any of my questions. Using the SQL Server Configuration
Manager make sure the SQL Server Browser service is using a Local System
account or a dedicated user account, and not the Network Service account.
