an Error 1058

Having problems connecting to database Enterprise manager
will let me connect but won't let me see any databases
just hangs. Have rebooted P.C. stopped the services etc.
When I Stop Sql server and re-start it says and instance
already running. Need help quickly.

Go to Control Panel -- Admin tools - Services -- In the services list see
how many MSSQL Server instances are there in your macine.
I feel that you are trying to look into a diffrent server. To test this
login to Query anayzer and execute the below comamnd:
select name from master..sysdatabases
